4G Acer iConia Tab A501 HSPA+ Headed to AT&T

The Honeycomb-powered Acer Iconia Tab A501 with HSPA+ network support is heading to AT&T and priced at $330 with a contract. This is the type of a friendly price for a 10.1 inches Honeycomb 3.0 tablet powered by a 1Ghz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and HSPA+ (4G) broadband capability. Remember to the same tablet (3G HSDPA version) that previously reported appears on UK website with amazing price at about $850 (£445.00) and at $450 for the WiFi only version.

The 4G Acer iConia A501 available in 2 versions based on internal storage. The 16 GB of storage will cost you at $499 and $599 for 32 Gigs. The iConia Tab A501 HSPA+ brings nowadays gadget specs, including a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 10.1 inches touchscreen display with 1080p output support, a HDMI port, a WFi 802.11 b/g and n connectivity, a 5 MP rear camera and 2 MP front web camera, a microSD slot for up to 64 GB of additional memory and a 3.5mm sound jack.

For additional information, Acer Iconia A500 3G HSPDA version is also sold in Asian market at a price less than $450 off contract. And apparently this Honeycomb tablet to get enough attention there, where there are also a ton of similar tablet products coming from China, which offered very cheap prices. It's just that most of them are still using Android 2.2 or 2.3 with no schedule for updates to Honeycomb. Nevertheless, it is not fair to compare Acer Iconia Tab with the tablets in the "product of China" category (Note: instead of "Made in China").

Although currently a new Android tablet using at least the Honeycomb 3.1 and even 3.2, Acer Iconia Tab 4G of AT&T version to use Android Honeycomb 3.0 when shipped, but promised an update to version 3.1 will be available through the OTA soon. The 4G HSPA+ tablet will available on AT&T on September 18, 2011. via: PhoneArena
